An
ADSL router is by the most important piece of hardware you need to
connect to the Internet. It's where the connection happens, where the
information is encoded for transmission and decoded into a language
your computer can understand. In the end: if you don't have a router,
you don't have the internet.
The more computers you would like to
connect, the more ports your router will need to have unless you are
connecting wirelessly. Please bear in mind
that the more people that
connect at the same time, the more traffic you will have to share on
your line which will drop its performance
